I have wanted to photograph an engagement shoot during peach season for a while now and Stesha & Stephen gave me the opportunity to do so this fall. Stesha is a fashion blogger and a fellow photographer here in the beautiful orchard & winery filled Okanagan. I truly believe you can never go wrong with a little touch of French inspiration in any shoot. So freshly picked peaches, the perfect gingham dress and makeup done by none other then the super talented Bri Stein made for the perfect accents to this adorable orchard engagement shoot. I made a “french market inspired” bouquet and I used floral stems picked fresh that morning from Lavender and Lace – this Kelowna florist grows her …Read More
Mimi, my bride-to-be, had a very particular vision in mind for her photo shoot and my regular 1 hr engagement session wasn’t going to cut it. After discussing with Mimi her ideal Okanagan engagement photography session I set out to find the perfect props & settings. I managed to sorce out a vintage row boat in Lake Country, a horse and a Kelowna vineyard where I was able to take an aerial shot of the Okanagan vines, the lake and to top it all off – those picturesque mountains. Since I only take on one shoot per day I have the flexibility to make a photo session longer or shorter if the need arises.
Both Kenny and Mimi wore traditional outfits …Read More
Courtney and I had the pleasure of working together in the past when I was still a graphic designer for a local Kelowna company. She was always a ray of sunshine and although we both no longer work together I was so excited when she contacted me and asked me to be her wedding photographer!
The engagement photo session took place at Cedar Creek Estate Winery. Fall was setting in and Mother Nature gifted us with some cloud coverage that gave us the perfect even lighting us photographers lust after. Deer came grazing through the vines behind Courtney and Alex to photobomb the session quickly before making their way through the vineyard. Courtney wore an elegant black dress with heels …Read More
I love being an Okanagan Photographer because it allows me to do these super romantic picnic engagement sessions at places like Cedar Creek Winery, with wonderful couples like Pam and Jeff.
Pam & Jeff had a sweet and intimate picnic among the vines for their Summer engagement session, including a 2014 bottle of Cedar Creek Estate Winery Gewurztraminer and a loaf of locally baked French Bread. Accompanied by their adorable Jack Russel Terrier named Piper, Pam and Jeff wanted to capture a piece of the Okanagan for their engagement before they traveled to Newfoundland for their wedding.
We could see some heavy clouds slowly inching across the lake as the shoot went on, but it allowed for some perfect golden …Read More
Jenn & John | God’s Mountain Estate & Family Orchard | Penticton & Summerland BC | Engagement Photography
This beautiful Okanagan orchard engagement session truly started the year off right! This fun couple came all the way up from Vancouver just to have their engagement photos taken and boy was it worth it! Jenn & John were my first couple to have photos taken up at the breathtaking God’s Mountain Estate in Penticton BC. We were super lucky with our timing because we were one of the few people who caught the brilliance of the “wisteria wall” and the blossoms in the orchard were also in full bloom! Everything from the romeo & julliet balcony to the sun peaking through the trees in the orchard, this engagement was one of the more romantic photo shoots I have done …Read More
I met with Kailey & Cole in the lounge of The Hotel Eldorado; the venue where they will be getting married in 2017. Kailey and I ordered that same drink and we all laughed about the simple things in life – I knew that this was going to be a great engagement shoot.
Oh boy was I right! Kailey & Cole had the most fun, loving connection with each other. There was so much laughter, dancing and snuggles it was hard to call it a day when everything was done.
Kailey wore an adorable blue and white striped dress that she had picked up from a trip in New Orleans – Cole’s outfit complimented hers perfectly, these two definitely had …Read More
Kasi and Wilson are easily one of the most adorable couples I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph. This gorgeous engagement shoot took place amongst the sweeping tall grasses of Knox Mountain, in the heart of Kelowna, BC. There are few locations in the Okanagan that are so versatile and so convenient at the same time, being just minutes from Kelowna’s downtown core.
Kasi had a darling pink Eiffel Tower charm necklace which I loved (anything that reminds me of Paris is my favorite thing), that went perfectly with her flowy summer dress and her pink painted fingernails!
It’s always endearing when my couples bring their own personal artifacts to add to a photo shoot. It really makes it their own, …Read More
I live for a good love story. I get the all caps LOVE kind of feeling for the journey that my couples go through before I meet them. So when Meagan & Brian told me their story I think I actually squealed with joy over how adorable it was.
How They Met
It all started with a Christmas party and a coworker in need. Meagan is a registered nurse (pretty much Wonder Woman) and one of her fellow co-workers wanted to find someone to accompany her boyfriend’s friend to a firefighters Christmas party. There was no way that she was going to pass up the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of firefighters! So her co-worker sent this mystery …Read More
So Valentine’s Day has just passed and with it a ton of new engagements for the new year! Even if the question was popped on another day, all of you lovely ladies are probably wondering what to wear for your engagement photos – not to worry I have you covered. I would also like to take this time to point out I am by no means sponsored by these stores, these are just a few fashion ideas to help you out.
Casual Engagement Photos
I like to play this one up a little more than just your street cloths, it’s more of a “nice dinner out” wear. Try not to be too matchy-matchy and bring in colour, patterns …Read More
I wanted to create this section to help brides with a few questions I get asked from time to time. Every wedding is a little different and every couple share something unique, but I’m hoping these frequently asked questions are able to help someone through the wedding planning process.
Q: Do you need a deposit to book? & When should I book you as my wedding photographer?
As soon as you have your date set and your venue booked, we can start making plans to chat about the photography coverage of your day. The sooner you find/book your wedding photographer the better. I was shocked when I went to book a photographer for my wedding, almost everyone …Read More
