Lindsay & Taylor | OAK Estate | Summerland BC | Wedding Photographer
August 4th, 2018 by jenniferWe first met this beautiful couple at the Hotel Eldorado, Kelowna many months before their wedding to see how well we clicked. What was intended as a quick meet-up turned into dinner lasting a couple hours. Their love of dogs was any easy conversation to start up as Taylor was wearing his custom screen-printed Vans, with a picture of their dog Mollie on both shoes. It’s always great to spend time with couples, learning about their lives, and how they met. We do it as often as possible!
Coming from Calgary the Bride & Groom planned every little, thoughfull, stunning detail for their destination wedding in Summerland, BC. Their wedding vendor team was on point and their estate winery venue with a view is one of the best in the Okanagan valley. One of my favorite things about this area of the Okanagan is that it looks like you have been transported to Greece with the landscape, foliage and temperatures matching that of a Mediterranean destination venue.
The day of the wedding was a warm Saturday in August, with beautiful blue skies all around us. The wedding parties were getting prepared in Penticton. The Bride and her Bridesmaids were getting ready at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre, in an incredible room with wall-to-wall windows and plenty of natural light (the good stuff!). Lindsay’s dress was a timeless Vera Wang with a flowing cathedral length long veil. Hair and make-up were courtesy of Beyoutiful Beauty Artists for Lindsay and her girls. The Groom and his Groomsmen had an Air B&B rented a few minutes away. Taylor had his suit custom ordered from Indochino; a classic black suit that couldn’t have been more perfect.
The ceremony and reception took place at the gorgeous luxury Evolve Cellars Winery in Summerland. It’s an amazing venue that over-looks Okanagan lake with a stunning panoramic vineyard view. The outdoor space was beautifully decorated with endless florals from Lavender and Lace Floral Farm and stationary for Minted, all curated by the very talented Bride Lindsay!
The ceremony itself took place among the vines just below the winery, with that breathtaking lake-view in the background. The grape-vines made an excellent backdrop for family photos, offering shade from the Okanagan summer sun. We took the newly weds to a secret little spot close by to get some more intimate pictures away from prying eyes. The stunning couple were so easy to photograph, it was hard to reel it in so they could get back to their celebrations.
Dinner was provided by the amazing kitchen at Evolve Cellars. Speeches had family and friends tearing up and laughing as the sun set behind the mountains. As the light disappeared the sparsely lit dance floor offered a super romantic setting for Lindsay and Talyor’s first dance, and punctuated the evening perfectly.
It was a magical day and we wish Lindsay, Taylor and Mollie all the best!

August 1st, 2018 by jenniferKaitlin and Tyler’s big day was here and there was rain in the forecast! The wedding couple opted to do a first look and all of the wedding party photos before the ceremony – a decision that proved very wise! The clouds gave us some amazingly epic light before the rain came. Kaitlin wore a gorgeous A-line, lace and tulle wedding dress complete with a veil and crystal beaded belt. The veil had a delicate beaded edge, and when Kaitlin removed it during the evening she replaced it with her crystal belt, using it as a hair piece. Her bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses that looked amazing and carried bouquets made by the bride herself. We stopped off at an orchard on the way to the venue to get the bride and groom to pose with some apples, to match their engagement shoot.
The wedding venue was at Sunset Ranch Golf Course, a place we love to photograph. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food is top notch. The clouds darkened as we made our way to Sunset Ranch and the staff quickly moved things indoors to keep the ceremony dry. The rain was short lived, so we took the family outside to complete the photos. Our gorgeous Okanagan sunsets are well showcased at Sunset Ranch with picturesque views to the west.
They were such a lovely, close family. The speeches were hilarious and tear-jerking; you could feel so much love in all the words spoken for the bride and groom that night. A beautiful evening for a beautiful couples, lots of love to Kaitlin and Tyler.
