Jessica Lexi & Tucker | Tower Ranch | Kelowna BC | Lifestyle Photographer
June 27th, 2016 by jenniferJessica (or Jess as most know her) is a very talented individual and we met in the wedding industry when I was first starting out. We instantly bonded over the beauty of weddings and our love of animals, so working together for a lifestyle shoot was a no-brainer.
This stunning lady is as sweet and as country as they come. She is also an inspiring trades women! I was so excited to take photos of such a motivating beauty with her Border Collie named Tucker and her horse Lexi.
Jess wanted to celebrate the time that she has spent with her trusty companions. She was inspired by her grandmother’s simple yet flowy wedding dress and an organic floral crown that she was able to make just before the shoot.
Sourcing out a breathtaking location near Tower Ranch in Kelowna BC we were able to get some great shots as we cautiously watched the largest, darkest clouds roll across the valley, straight for us. It ended up being one of the largest storms all summer and we were lucky enough to finish our lifestyle shoot and have front row seats for nature’s powerful show.
Some of you might even recognize Jess’s horse Lexi, as she was a model for me with a sweet couple for their engagement shoot. So Lexi was a seasoned pro when it came to modeling for her lifestyle photography debut. You can check out the gallery here.
Someone might ask if there is any difference between a lifestyle photographer and a wedding photographer. In all honesty their really isn’t much difference because the way that I shoot is very emotionally based. Throughout any given wedding you switch between being a portrait, fashion, editorial, and lifestyle photographer. I make each different section of a day cohesive by making sure that the emotion is genuine and try to source out the best light possible.
Thank you Jess for allowing this lifestyle photographer a chance to capture your love of your dear friends, Lexi and Tucker.

Mimi & Kenny | Cedar Creek Winery | Kelowna BC | Wedding Photographer
June 25th, 2016 by jenniferSome of you may recall Mimi and Kenny’s engagement session (found here) that involved multiple outfits, several locations throughout Kelowna and Lake Country (including Cedar Creek Estate Winery), a horse, a vintage little sailing boat, and a very cute couple. It was an exciting challenge to accommodate Mimi and Kenny’s vision. The wedding was a lot more laid back but no less extraordinary.
The ceremony took place at Cedar Creek Estate Winery, which is always an amazing venue. Mimi wore a gorgeous couture wedding dress, while her bridesmaids wore complimentary blush & cream dresses, they were all stunning. Her bouquet was absolute perfection with an arrangement of Peonies, Roses, Eucalyptus, and Dusty Miller. Kenny wore a classic two-tone grey suit, and his groomsmen wore matching pants and vests.
After the ceremony the couple accommodated their guests with a cocktail hour including an oyster bar (courtesy of Cedar Creek) and Gorgeous Georgia’s Homemade Ice Cream who are based out of Penticton. I may be biased but more weddings need to have an ice cream cart; who doesn’t love ice cream?!!?
The wedding party and family portraits all took place at the winery overlooking the beautiful Okanagan Lake. The vineyards always lend themselves to stunning photos, with great dynamic lighting in a dreamy, romantic setting. Congratulations Mimi and Kenny!

Kasi & Wilson | Knox Mountain | Kelowna BC | Engagement Photographer
June 19th, 2016 by jenniferKasi and Wilson are easily one of the most adorable couples I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph. This gorgeous engagement shoot took place amongst the sweeping tall grasses of Knox Mountain, in the heart of Kelowna, BC. There are few locations in the Okanagan that are so versatile and so convenient at the same time, being just minutes from Kelowna’s downtown core.
Kasi had a darling pink Eiffel Tower charm necklace which I loved (anything that reminds me of Paris is my favorite thing), that went perfectly with her flowy summer dress and her pink painted fingernails!
It’s always endearing when my couples bring their own personal artifacts to add to a photo shoot. It really makes it their own, and it allows me to be creative with something that really enhances the couples personal experience. Kasi brought some Scrabble tiles to use, that were symbolic of her relationship with her Grandmother, whom she would play Scrabble with often. We spelled LOVE using her beautiful solitaire engagement ring as the O – so cute!
Kasi and Wilson were a perfect pair in this Kelowna Engagement session. We later photographed their wedding at the beautiful Sanctuary Gardens, in West Kelowna, BC. Love these two!

Baby Ellie | Studio | Kelowna BC | Newborn Photographer
June 13th, 2016 by jenniferIs there anything sweeter then a newborn baby girl? I met this tiny bundle’s Mama when I was going to school for graphic design a few years back. So I was super excited to get the call that my past college class-mate had started her family and wanted me to help document it for her.
Little newborn Ellie was nothing but sugar n’ spice & everything nice so we wanted to go with some bright pinks & purples for her studio session. We also wanted to make sure that all of the family members got a chance to have their photo taken with the newest addition.
I love it when my clients want to bring in something that is special to them so they can make the studio shoot unique to them. Baby Ellie’s Papa brought in his gorgeous, mint, acoustic guitar – so we absolutely had to pose everyone together!
I also continue to create and make newborn headbands, hats & outfits so each of my studio sessions are a little different from the next. I can incorporate special colours, favorite flowers etc… anything you can really think of!

Meagan & Brian Proposal Story | Knox Mountain | Kelowna BC | Engagement Photographer
June 12th, 2016 by jenniferI live for a good love story. I get the all caps LOVE kind of feeling for the journey that my couples go through before I meet them. So when Meagan & Brian told me their story I think I actually squealed with joy over how adorable it was.
How They Met
It all started with a Christmas party and a coworker in need. Meagan is a registered nurse (pretty much Wonder Woman) and one of her fellow co-workers wanted to find someone to accompany her boyfriend’s friend to a firefighters Christmas party. There was no way that she was going to pass up the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of firefighters! So her co-worker sent this mystery man Meagan’s number. One text lead to another… one lunch date and a Christmas party later they were engaged just shy of a year to the date.
How He Asked
Brian decided to take Meagan and their adorable little puggle ‘Abby’ up to Silver Star Mountain after a fresh snowfall. Little did Meagan know that Brian had purchased a new collar and tag that read “will you marry me?”. Meagan held Abby to look at her new tag and with the softly falling snow and lights overhead Brian went on one knee and asked the question with a stunning emerald cut halo diamond engagement ring.
A true fairy tale engagement proposal! How can you not grin from ear to ear after hearing about their beginning?
I was so immensely touched that they chose me to photograph their engagement session and cover the wedding photography in September. Watching this couple grow and having them choose me to capture all their family milestones has been a highlight of my photography career. I am truly honored to be able to capture these amazing mile marker moments.
