Jenn & John | God’s Mountain Estate & Family Orchard | Penticton & Summerland BC | Engagement Photography

This beautiful Okanagan orchard engagement session truly started the year off right! This fun couple came all the way up from Vancouver just to have their engagement photos taken and boy was it worth it! Jenn & John were my first couple to have photos taken up at the breathtaking God’s Mountain Estate in Penticton BC. We were super lucky with our timing because we were one of the few people who caught the brilliance of the “wisteria wall” and the blossoms in the orchard were also in full bloom! Everything from the romeo & julliet balcony to the sun peaking through the trees in the orchard, this engagement was one of the more romantic photo shoots I have done ...

Kailey & Cole | Bertram Creek Park | Kelowna BC | Engagement Photographer

I met with Kailey & Cole in the lounge of The Hotel Eldorado; the venue where they will be getting married in 2017. Kailey and I ordered that same drink and we all laughed about the simple things in life – I knew that this was going to be a great engagement shoot.

Oh boy was I right! Kailey & Cole had the most fun, loving connection with each other. There was so much laughter, dancing and snuggles it was hard to call it a day when everything was done.

Fiona is truly a great person, warm, inviting and informative – the perfect combination for a photography instructor.

The day started at 10:00am with introductions of the other students, where they were from and how they got into photography. You all know my story, but it was interesting hearing everyone else and what they were hoping to gain from Fiona’s knowledge of studio based family, maternity & newborn portraits.

Once the beautiful little baby girl ...

Spring Wedding Bouquet

Their are so many details that can occupy the space in the reception hall; everything that represents your tastes and personality. Flowers can play a small role in your wedding or they can play a huge one. They can be understated or they can be all encompassing. I for one love, love, love (LOVE) flowers and incorporate them into my every day life as much as possible. Keep in mind that when it comes to weddings, flowers can often break the bank, but if you’re crafty you can have the bouquet of your matrimonial dreams. This is just a little motivation to  get you adding your own personal touch to your wedding.

Always consider what’s in season and readily available ...

A Photographer in Paris Part 2

So as you all know from reading A Photographer in Paris Part 1, Jake and I made a trip to Paris for our 10 year anniversary.

Jake and I did all of the touristy things of course, but some of our favorite things were not on the tops of those “10 best places in Paris” lists. We loved the Musee d’Orsay and we had a dinner in a little restaurant off the beaten path that almost had Jake in tears it was so good.

The Printemps was an amazing place to spend a few hours. High end shopping, all the top luxury brands in one amazing mall. The roof top has a panoramic view of the city. It didn’t cost ...
