Mimi & Kenny | Cedar Creek, Bertram & Tower Ranch | Kelowna BC | Engagement Photography
January 30th, 2017 by jenniferMimi, my bride-to-be, had a very particular vision in mind for her photo shoot and my regular 1 hr engagement session wasn’t going to cut it. After discussing with Mimi her ideal Okanagan engagement photography session I set out to find the perfect props & settings. I managed to sorce out a vintage row boat in Lake Country, a horse and a Kelowna vineyard where I was able to take an aerial shot of the Okanagan vines, the lake and to top it all off – those picturesque mountains. Since I only take on one shoot per day I have the flexibility to make a photo session longer or shorter if the need arises.
Both Kenny and Mimi wore traditional outfits for both of their heritages as well as a couple more conventional outfits including a custom made red dress with an amazingly long and flowy train that made for some gorgeous movement in the photos.
It’s important to me, as a Kelowna engagement & wedding photographer, that I can bring my couples to the special locations around the Okanagan to showcase their love for one another in this beautiful place I call home.
I absolutely fell in love with Mimi’s “Sophia Webster” Rose Gold pumps with black flamingo pin heels! I mean could these shoes get any better?!

Jessica Lexi & Tucker | Tower Ranch | Kelowna BC | Lifestyle Photographer
June 27th, 2016 by jenniferJessica (or Jess as most know her) is a very talented individual and we met in the wedding industry when I was first starting out. We instantly bonded over the beauty of weddings and our love of animals, so working together for a lifestyle shoot was a no-brainer.
This stunning lady is as sweet and as country as they come. She is also an inspiring trades women! I was so excited to take photos of such a motivating beauty with her Border Collie named Tucker and her horse Lexi.
Jess wanted to celebrate the time that she has spent with her trusty companions. She was inspired by her grandmother’s simple yet flowy wedding dress and an organic floral crown that she was able to make just before the shoot.
Sourcing out a breathtaking location near Tower Ranch in Kelowna BC we were able to get some great shots as we cautiously watched the largest, darkest clouds roll across the valley, straight for us. It ended up being one of the largest storms all summer and we were lucky enough to finish our lifestyle shoot and have front row seats for nature’s powerful show.
Some of you might even recognize Jess’s horse Lexi, as she was a model for me with a sweet couple for their engagement shoot. So Lexi was a seasoned pro when it came to modeling for her lifestyle photography debut. You can check out the gallery here.
Someone might ask if there is any difference between a lifestyle photographer and a wedding photographer. In all honesty their really isn’t much difference because the way that I shoot is very emotionally based. Throughout any given wedding you switch between being a portrait, fashion, editorial, and lifestyle photographer. I make each different section of a day cohesive by making sure that the emotion is genuine and try to source out the best light possible.
Thank you Jess for allowing this lifestyle photographer a chance to capture your love of your dear friends, Lexi and Tucker.

Mimi & Kenny | Cedar Creek Winery | Kelowna BC | Wedding Photographer
June 25th, 2016 by jenniferSome of you may recall Mimi and Kenny’s engagement session (found here) that involved multiple outfits, several locations throughout Kelowna and Lake Country (including Cedar Creek Estate Winery), a horse, a vintage little sailing boat, and a very cute couple. It was an exciting challenge to accommodate Mimi and Kenny’s vision. The wedding was a lot more laid back but no less extraordinary.
The ceremony took place at Cedar Creek Estate Winery, which is always an amazing venue. Mimi wore a gorgeous couture wedding dress, while her bridesmaids wore complimentary blush & cream dresses, they were all stunning. Her bouquet was absolute perfection with an arrangement of Peonies, Roses, Eucalyptus, and Dusty Miller. Kenny wore a classic two-tone grey suit, and his groomsmen wore matching pants and vests.
After the ceremony the couple accommodated their guests with a cocktail hour including an oyster bar (courtesy of Cedar Creek) and Gorgeous Georgia’s Homemade Ice Cream who are based out of Penticton. I may be biased but more weddings need to have an ice cream cart; who doesn’t love ice cream?!!?
The wedding party and family portraits all took place at the winery overlooking the beautiful Okanagan Lake. The vineyards always lend themselves to stunning photos, with great dynamic lighting in a dreamy, romantic setting. Congratulations Mimi and Kenny!
