Jenn & John | God’s Mountain Estate & Family Orchard | Penticton & Summerland BC | Engagement Photography
July 19th, 2016 by jenniferThis beautiful Okanagan orchard engagement session truly started the year off right! This fun couple came all the way up from Vancouver just to have their engagement photos taken and boy was it worth it! Jenn & John were my first couple to have photos taken up at the breathtaking God’s Mountain Estate in Penticton BC. We were super lucky with our timing because we were one of the few people who caught the brilliance of the “wisteria wall” and the blossoms in the orchard were also in full bloom! Everything from the romeo & julliet balcony to the sun peaking through the trees in the orchard, this engagement was one of the more romantic photo shoots I have done to date – and I loved every minute of it!
The family orchard is also the location of Jenn & John’s wedding in the fall, so it has special meaning to the both of them and I was glad that we were able to shoot there when we did. It’s going to be a neat transition so see what the venue will look like in September with all of the wedding guests and decor.
Jenn & John are so fun and down to earth, I can’t wait to be with them on their special day, when they say “I do”.

Achromatic White & Crystal Wedding | Penticton BC | Fine Art Film Wedding Photographer
May 5th, 2017 by jenniferWhite is an achromatic color, meaning a color without hue, but there is nothing lacking when it came to this wedding inspirational shoot.
With styling by White Event Studio, this beautifully simplistic & romantic shoot had a cloud-like feel and it gave the whole environment a poetic vibe. It featured a beautiful soft blush tulle gown by Cinobi and florals by one of my personal favorite vendors from Vancouver: Celsia Floral.
The table setting was adorned with crystals, vintage silver cutlery, and mother of pearl charger plates. With layers upon layers of soft muted tonal white and blush, it was a modern take on a romantic colour pallet.
Armloads of baby’s breath were brought in and arranged over the existing vineyard vines to capture the billowy clouds for this minimal white wedding decor.
The Stationary was created by the talented Flourish Calligraphy, and each place setting had a thoughtfully chosen greek word and description.
This was my first styled workshop and the first time I ever used my medium format film camera. I had to learn to manually focus each image and shoot the whole roll in under 5 minutes! It’s great to look back at how far I have come and I appreciate the things that I learned about myself from this styled shoot. I met many talented vendors and made lifelong friends from the experience.

Jenn & John | Family Orchard Near Evolve Cellars | Summerland BC | Wedding Photographer
November 6th, 2017 by jenniferI have been looking forward to this wedding since I had the pleasure of capturing Jenn and John in front of the blooming wisteria wall at God’s Mountain Estate. Jenn & John have consistently managed to give me happy chills with the experiences we have gone through together. We have had some crazy coincidences along this journey and I can’t help but think that sometimes the universe has big plans. When Jenn was a little girl she always dreamed of getting married in front of their family’s wisteria, not knowing this before I choose to shoot their engagement session at God’s Mountain Estate in Pentiction, Jenn was excited when she saw these purple blooms at the location. She also jumped for joy when she saw her all time favorite dream car just parked in the driveway, a vintage sunshine yellow Volkswagen Beetle! What are the odds? I found myself saying that last line again when I was in a local antique shop here in Kelowna. I stumbled across a blue vintage necklace, the missing set to the ring that Jenn’s grandmother had gifted her before she passed. It was an exact match to my brides “something blue”… yup again what are the odds.
I am involved with many touching moments throughout all of the weddings I get to photograph here in the Okanagan, but this was the first time I have ever gotten goosebumps from hearing something so touching.
Jenn gathered all of her girls together in order to thank them for being a part of her special day. Heirloom, custom made gold necklaces, were gifted to the bridesmaids; the same necklace that the bride’s mother received from her maid of honour when she got married. I’m tearing up just thinking about all of the generous love for friends this family has.
The bride had the top of her two piece wedding dress custom made and it suited her to a tee! It was modern with a touch of classic vintage – wedding dress perfection! I almost died from envy when I saw the vintage designer contour earrings my bride had found while antiquing in Vancouver the year before.
One of the beautiful details that Jenn included was vintage hangers for all of her bridesmaids dresses. Handmade floral crowns and unique blush & cream dresses for each bridesmaid really brought the vintage BOHO wedding look to a new level.
Jen & John said their “I do’s” on a cliff side overlooking the lake in Summerland, just around the corner from Evolve Cellars. They were literally steps away from a beautiful family owned apple orchard and it made for the perfect backdrop for their wedding photos.
I want to thank Jen and John for letting me photograph their wedding and for giving me such beautiful details, memories and emotion to capture.
