I’m so honored that Kelly and Brian chose me to capture this quaint Okanagan elopement at the Summerhill Winery in Kelowna BC. This was the first elopement that I have been lucky enough to photograph, and I must say it was amazing. Those of you that know me are aware that I love all of the details, tablescapes, and floral arrangements of a typical wedding. I love families coming together to celebrate all the wonderful couples I photograph, the dancing, the music, all of it. As special as those big days can be, it’s refreshing to be a part of something…simpler. When you boil it down, all you really need is your partner, your marriage license, and your two closest friends. Love doesn’t always require a huge reception for all your relatives, or the months of planning leading up to it. Kelly and Brian love each other, and that’s all they needed on their special day.

Summer Hill Winery in Kelowna is always a great location to photograph. It’s been a hugely successful wedding venue for many years and it’s easy to see why. It’s very accommodating for ceremonies of all sizes, the food is always great, and there are countless spots to get some really amazing photographs.

Kelly and Brian were an amazing and lovely couple. I’m thankful to have been a part of their big day and wish them all the best!

Summerland Wedding Photography Info

I love being an Okanagan Photographer because it allows me to do these super romantic picnic engagement sessions at places like Cedar Creek Winery, with wonderful couples like Pam and Jeff.

Pam & Jeff had a sweet and intimate picnic among the vines for their Summer engagement session, including  a 2014 bottle of Cedar Creek Estate Winery Gewurztraminer and a loaf of locally baked French Bread. Accompanied by their adorable Jack Russel Terrier named Piper, Pam and Jeff wanted to capture a piece of the Okanagan for their engagement before they traveled to Newfoundland for their wedding.

We could see some heavy clouds slowly inching across the lake as the shoot went on, but it allowed for some perfect golden hour lighting and a bit of reprieve from the hot August weather. We managed to take some amazing cuddly photos between the rows of grapes before the rain made it to the romantic Cedar Creek Winery. This candid photo shoot was a highlight of the year.

Pam and Jeff (and Piper) were so incredibly sweet and kind, they were no shortage of smiles, laughter and snuggles the entire time. You could see the love radiate from this small family and we hope to see them back in Kelowna again soon!
